Caipirinha

The last day of school is June 14th, two days to go… The first day of summer is June 20th. Enough said, let’s party!

Caipirinha
This is a drink my Brazilian friend Veronica has made for me many times. It is a refreshing drink and is perfect on a warm summer day. Usually meant to be shared with a loved one or friend but I have a difficult time sharing. I hope you enjoy!

In this recipe I have substituted the Cachaca for Vodka

Dice lime remove ends.

In a sixteen ounce glass combine the limes and sugar. Using the muddler press down on the limes creating a simple syrup at the bottom of the glass.

Fill the glass to the top with crushed ice. Add 3 shots Vodka or Cachaca.

SAUDE!

Ingredients:

1 Lime (diced)
2 T Sugar
3 Shots of Vodka or Cachaca (Brazilian Liquor made from sugar cane juice)
Crushed ice

Servings 2 or…… 1 if you don’t like to share!

  1. The first time I had this cocktail was on a perfect beach in Venezuela. I have come to associate it with summer. GREG

But well worth it we had a great time, maybe we should learn to share ;). I am going to make one this weekend (yes just one) along with the stuffed sweet peppers you posted awhile back. 5. I prefer this with cachaca, but I think white rum is a better substitute than vodka
